This webinar, delivered by Cynthia Herr and Denise Kreutzwiser, will review key points about the various Ontario government facilitated medication coverage plans. Case scenarios will be presented to highlight commonly encountered drug coverage issues and to demonstrate how medication optimization can be useful when trying to build an affordable medication regimen. By the end of this webinar, participants will have a better understanding of the drug coverage programs administered by the Ontario government, and strategies to make patients’ medication use more affordable.

 

Cynthia Herr is a registered social worker with the Pain Management Program at St. Joseph’s Health Care London. Cynthia joined the pain management team in 2017 after spending many years as a social worker supporting individuals with various chronic physical and mental health issues. Cynthia provides a wide range of clinical services, including patient education, treatment planning, systems navigation, and counselling services for individuals, groups and families. She is also actively involved in initiatives to improve pain services within the clinic and across the continuum of care.
 

Denise Kreutzwiser is a clinical pharmacist with the Pain Management Program St. Joseph’s Health Care London. Denise transitioned her clinical focus from HIV/viral hepatitis treatment to chronic pain management in January 2017, following the Ontario government’s investment in expanded allied health services at outpatient hospital pain clinics.
